Team Tampa's middle school program is offered in the fall and spring on weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings. At practice middle schoolers are immersed in a fun and welcoming learning environment where they will get to experience the physical and mental benefits the sport of rowing has to offer. As the year progresses middle schoolers will be exposed to the more competitive aspects of the sport. This culminates in us allowing for our 8th grade athletes to compete with our high school program and begin to develop the work ethic and physical fitness we expect of our competitive athletes.

This season parents and their athletes will have the option between multiple Middle School practice teams.

Recreational Middle School Team will be offered to 5th - 7th grade, returning and new athletes. These athletes will have the opportunities to scrimmage at regular practice times and locations.

​

Rookie Middle School Team will be offered to 7th-8th grade, returning and new athletes. These athletes will have race opportunities in Tampa and out of town.

8th Grade Competitive Team will be offered to experienced 8th graders who wish to practice and race with the High School Freshman/Novice squad. Please click here to see the High School practice and race schedule.

  The practice schedule is as follows:

• Recreational Middle School Athletes

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday

    • 5:30p - 7:15p

  • All practices are water based (weather permitting) 

  • Fall - Sept 4th - Dec 16th

  • Spring - Jan 6th - March 28th​

• Rookie Middle School Athletes

  • Water Practice

    • Tuesday, Thursday - 5:30p - 7:15p

    • Saturday 9:00a - 11:00a 

  • Land Practice

    • Wednesday 5:30p -7:15p

  • Fall - Sept 3rd - Dec 16th

  • Spring - Jan 7th - April 5th (or May 11th for athletes interested in USRowing Regionals)

We will have many racing opportunities throughout the year for all of our Middle School athletes where they will gain experience and learn to enjoy the sport at the most competitive level
